2004 U14 Boys White - Coach Jon Munson

About the Team

Greetings!

This is the BBGC u14 Boys White Team, for boys born in the year 2004, or later if playing up.  We are a travel team, which means we travel to a different county to play our games.  Currently we are playing in the BBSL league, which is a very competitive league.

As our competition level increases, so do player abilities need to increase.  We seek players: that strive to improve their game, always give 100% if not more, demonstrate commitment, reliability, enthusiasm and team spirit, work hard in practice and games, and are willing to put in a bit of "homework" as well.

If you would like to contact me, I can be reached at either jmunson@his.com, or, by cell at 240-305-7240.

I am assisted by Coach James Ferguson, who hails from the UK, bringing a strong European ethic and flavor to the team.

Sincerely,

Jon C. Munson II

About Coach Munson:

Coach Munson played soccer through his middle school years in Charles County under the auspices of Coach Gaspar.  He then played JV Soccer under Coach Peabody for Thomas Stone High School.  Later in life, he enjoyed playing amateur adult indoor soccer for a few years until a foot injury caused him to retire from the sport.

Later, his younger son indicated an interest in playing soccer at age 10.  As a result, Coach Munson began as an assistant coach in the Intramural division of BBGC, then coached the following Intramural season, then coached the County Travel team.  At the moment he is now coaching the '04 White Travel team.

Coach Munson holds both E and F licenses from USSF.

About Coach Ferguson:

Coach Ferguson is from England and holds a USSF D License.  He studied Sports Science at the University of Portsmouth in England (UK), and is also a certified interscholastic soccer coach.

Coach Ferguson played varsity level at high school, winning league and cup in 1994 and 1995 - reaching the equivalent to state finals 1995 but finishing "runners-up."  He's played at college and University, as well as in multiple "good-standard" amateur leagues
(England, Scotland, Isle of Man, Spain and here in the US).
